Ferry flight
Using the <Make A Ferry Flight> option enables you to strategically place your plane to airports around the globe. There are three ways to schedule a Ferry Flight, depending on your aircraft's status and operation decision:
Ferry Flight out of Inactive Fleet
Probably the most common scenario: you buy a new plane and you want to transfer it to one of your airports a.s.a.p.. Here is what you do:
- Operations -> Fleet -> Inactive Fleet -> Action -> Make A Ferry Flight
- Confirm Do you really want to relocate this aircraft by performing a ferry flight?
- Click the <Add flight to this flight plan> drop down menu and select the desired destination.
Your ferry flight will be performed instantly following a required 2 hour lead time prior to take-off.
Once saved, the aircraft will be marked with a Ferry flight symbol 
in the Inactive Fleet list. For the whole duration of the ferry flight (= 2 hours pre-flight preparations plus actual flight time) the aircraft will not be accessible for further changes.
Ferry Flight out of Active Fleet for aircraft that is part of an Execution Group
- Operations -> Fleet -> Active Fleet -> Action -> Make A Ferry Flight
- Confirm Do you really want to relocate this aircraft by performing a ferry flight?
- Click the <Add flight to this flight plan> drop down menu and select the desired destination.
Your ferry flight will be performed instantly following a required 2 hour lead time prior to take-off.
Once saved, the aircraft will be marked with a Ferry flight symbol in the Active Fleet list. For the whole duration of the ferry flight (= 2 hours pre-flight preparations plus actual flight time) the aircraft will not be accessible for further changes.
Ferry Flight out of Active Fleet for aircraft that has a fix flight plan
This option may be of high value during Event- and Tour-Charters. Instead of wasting days sitting idle on a tarmac somewhere, simply drop off your clients at their desired destination and quickly head to a different airport to fulfill another contract while they are busy doing their thing. Just don't forget to transfer back in time to pick them up.
- Operations -> Fleet -> Active Fleet -> Action -> Edit fix flight plan
- Select Ferry Flight from the <Add flight to this flight plan> drop down menu and schedule
- Schedule the ferry flight under consideration of the required 12 hour lead time for fix flights scheduling.
Once completed, the ferry flight will be auto-deleted from the aircraft's flight plan.
